Reiki
There are many
names for energy therapy. Some are:
Touch Healing
Polarity
Therapeutic Touch
The body is filled and
surrounded with energy (Bio-plasma). Like a battery it can become
low on life force energy. This affects it's healing ability. Reiki
provides additional energy and works at correcting the energy flow
that assists the body in healing its self. In the case of Reiki, the
practitioner is a conduit to this energy. It is not their energy.
They simply place their hands on the client starting at the head
working down to the feet. It is not invasive. The energy is applied
through clothing, however the client should be dressed comfortably
so they can relax. Shoes are removed. If preferred it is possible to
provide this energy without touching the client. This is called
"beaming the energy". The client's body knows what energy to take
and where. It is not guided by the practitioner. This is another of
God's gifts.
From a spiritual
standpoint the reiki experience helps one to feel in touch with the
universal life force which let's us know we are not alone in this
physical world. We may be surrounded by people and yet feel alone.
Reiki reassures us we are not.
The Reiki practitioner does not diagnose. Because of it's healing
promotion, Reiki is helpful before and after surgery. It also
assists in helping an individual through the side effects of chemo
and radiation. It promotes healing at all levels; physically,
mentally and spiritually. When our time is ending, Reiki helps ease
the transition from this world to the next.
